SEVEN UNIQUE VENUES ALL CELEBRATING JUNETEENTH

Enjoy fun for the entire family as you celebrate Juneteenth in Springboro at seven unique venues across the city the weekend of June 16-20th. Attend all seven or choose your favorites. On Saturday, a shuttle will be available to take you to each location. Enjoy music and live performances at North Park, explore sites of the Underground Railroad, bicycle in our Freedom Ride, or sign up for our 3-on-3 basketball tournament.  You can also take part in engaging community discussions or enjoy a special night of Jazz. All celebrating our shared history and Freedom.

NORTH PARK AMPHITHEATER

Experience live music & performances, local vendors, food trucks, giveaways and more! The party begins at 12 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. Join us at the North Park Amphitheater at 195 Tamarack Trail, Springboro, OH 45066. Musical performances by:

UNDERGROUND RAILROAD TOURS

Explore real sites of the Underground Railroad. With map in hand, visit 8 unique sites (including 3 new additions from last year). You will go on a self-guided tour where volunteers at each stop teach you more about how our Quaker ancestors were able to help slaves on their path to freedom.

 

The Springboro Area Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for visitors while the tours take place throughout the city. Visitors can get their map for the tour directly at the Springboro Area Museum located at 110 S. Main St. Springboro, OH 45066.  Visitors will also be able to catch a shuttle to the museum from our two other venue locations.

3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

A 3-on-3 basketball tournament for all ages from U-12 to 40+. Event will take place at the Coffman YMCA of Greater Dayton at 88 Remick Blvd, Springboro, OH 45066. All games will be played outside, weather permitting, with indoor facilities available, if needed. First game will tip off at 9:00 a.m. Check in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Between games, players are invited to take the shuttle to go experience the other two venues during the festival. USE Code EarlyBird2022 by June 12th for 50% off registration.

Are you an educator? Historian? An aspiring leader? Join us for panel discussions and speakers centered on our community's lived experience around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. All happening, beginning 8am on Friday, June 17th, the day before the Springboro Juneteenth Jubilee. UNDESIGN THE REDLINE: AN INTERACTIVE EXHIBIT

Experience the nationally acclaimed UNDESIGN THE REDLINE, an interactive traveling exhibit that explores the history and impact of the 1938 Redlining maps. The exhibit explores how we can come together to un-design these problematic systems and structures with intentionality. Learn more about it here

A NIGHT OF JAZZ WITH FRIENDS 

Join us for a fun evening of jubilation and jazz as we kickoff our Second Annual Springboro Juneteenth Jubilee. Enjoy music performed by Speak of Peace as we share a meal together. All proceeds go to support The Springboro Juneteenth Jubilee*. The evening begins the night of Friday June 16th with cocktails from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, with dinner following. This is an open event where ALL are welcome, 21 and up please. We look forward to celebrating with you!

*Your ticket cost is tax deductible. Springboro Juneteenth Jubilee an event hosted by PEACOC which is a designated 501(C)3 nonprofit operating within the Warren County Foundation.

COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE HOSTED BY COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER

You can help our community address the current blood shortage by donating blood Juneteenth weekend. Stop by Southwest Church at 150 Remick Blvd. in Springboro from 12-4 pm where Community Blood Center will be there to help you donate. You'll get a special edition water bottle for donating and be entered to win four free tickets to Country Concert 2022. Everyone who registers will get a free t-shirt.
